| Straight No Chaser / Music Blog | | | An Exotic Breed EP by Dusty | Finally Dusty presents the most exotic tracks of his new album „Keep it Raw“ on this brilliant vinyl EP. True to the title, the opener guarantees an exotic mixture: dubby horns, latin voices, african drums as well as melodic saxophon and rhodes solos.
Umberto Echo, a great dub producer from Munich has formed the title track into a wonderful and energetic dub version with half tempo beats including great effects and reverbs. The B-Side which is more on the latin tip, comes with „Salsa Step“. Broken beats paired with salsa rhythms, progressive synth sounds, heavy percussion and a massive horn section – definitely a great tune for the dancefloor! „Rhythmo“ features the wonderful voice of „Carla Vallet“, a jazz singer with multicultural background who has already worked with artists like Monday Michiru, Mondo Grosso or DJ Krush. This is a nice downtempo track, with a smooth brazilian guitar, combined with latin percussion and spanish vocals | | 2009-02-21 04:13:25 | | | CHILDS PLAY EP VOL 1 by DUBCHILD | Dubchild debuts this heavy 4 track EP from his new "CHILD'S PLAY SERIES" released by the legendary DPR RECORDINGS.
Dubchild "i'm just continuing the heavy beats that I was doing on Storming Productions and Heavy Artillery" pure phattness speaker smashing music.. | | 2009-01-20 09:08:46 | | | Black Secret Technology (2008 Remastered Edition) | 1995's BLACK SECRET TECHNOLOGY, a bewildering mix of tight breakbeats, techno textures, and flickering, dream-struck voices, has been often imitated but never equaled.
Gerald credits much of his work to serendipity, but that doesn't explain the staggering cybernetic wallop packed by "Alita's Dream" and "Survival," or the supreme sensuality of "The Nile." The album is woven through with perfect techno-pop bridges, confronting the harsh realities of technology with the life-affirming spirituality of Gerald's club-classic debut, HOT LEMONADE. Balanced on the razor edge between mysticism and frenzy, TECHNOLOGY remains a powerful comment on the eternal struggle between man and his future.
