The epic state of flux in the life of Martin Iveson (aka Atjazz) while writing the album frequently adjourned and ultimately shaped the songs you hear.
While the last album ‘Labfunk’ was underpinned by detailed instrumentals, ‘Full Circle’ is bumper to bumper with hip shakingly soulful songs, as he collaborates with an impressive selection of superb vocalists. The much lauded singles ‘Put It On’ featuring Sweden’s Ernesto, and ‘Love Someone’ with house music legend Robert Owens were the perfect precursor to the long player ‘Full Circle’.
Other guest vocalists who deserve recognition include Hospital Records’ Mr J from Phuturistix, who appears on ‘Together,’ Dawne B who also featured on ‘Harmony,’ (one of the critically acclaimed tracks from Atjazz’s previous album,) The Communards and Test Dept. collaborator Sarah-Jane Morris, and Sonar Kollektiv’s siren Clara Hill, who lends her strong vocal talents to ‘Before’ (gaining plays from Radio 1’s Trevor Nelson along the way,) and ‘Sense Of Life’

About the artist: Thierry Barnier aka FlinT is a native of France. His musical education started early, at the age of eight, with a classic guitar later to be rediscovered through the bass guitar and drum machine experiments when already very fond of electronic music under the influence of Kraftwerk, Joy Division, New Order, The Residents, Thierry buys his first synthesizer, the mythic sequential circuit polysix and his electronic adventure starts.
Influenced by many different genres as diverse as disco, punk, techno, drum ‘n’ bass, jazz and classic music he very naturally develops a real multicultural approach to music. Heavily interested in the electronic music from Detroit particularly in artists such as Moodyman and Theo Parrish, in 2000 he gets bit by the broken beat bug. The result of these wide influences is his debut release on BPSS – a genre that he likes to define himself as the broken deep. | | 2008-05-26 04:15:33 | | | 100% ESSENTIAL ! | Monstrous instrumental beats from Bullion.
